Make exposure therapy easier to deliver

Rephobia supports therapist-led, in-clinic VR exposure for phobias with controlled scenarios and adjustable intensity, reducing reliance on real-world triggers.

01 How it fits into sessions

Use Rephobia as part of an exposure-based treatment plan. The therapist sets the target, adjusts intensity in real time, and guides the patient through repeatable steps with consistent conditions session-to-session.

02 Common use cases

Phobias where in vivo exposure is difficult, costly, or impractical to arrange. Start with acrophobia (fear of heights), then expand across a growing library of therapist-led environments.

03 Setup and delivery

In-clinic delivery with a therapist present throughout. Lightweight onboarding, clear contraindication guidance, and a workflow designed to work in private practice, community services, and NHS-style clinics.

Frequently asked questions

For clinicians, partners, and media. If you have a specific question, request a demo or contact us.

Who is Rephobia for?

+

Rephobia is designed for therapists and clinics delivering exposure-based treatment for phobias. It supports in-clinic, therapist-led sessions where controlled, repeatable exposure is useful and real-world triggers are impractical to arrange. We also work with researchers, funders, and partners interested in clinical evaluation and service adoption.

Is this self-guided or therapist-led?

+

Therapist-led. Rephobia is built for in-clinic use with a qualified therapist present throughout the session, guiding exposure and adjusting intensity in real time. We are not positioning Rephobia as a consumer self-treatment app.

What does a typical session look like?

+

A therapist sets goals and a starting level, guides the patient through graduated VR exposure, and adjusts intensity based on clinical judgement and patient response. Sessions conclude with debrief and next-step planning, consistent with exposure-based CBT delivery.

What phobias do you support?

+

We are starting with acrophobia (fear of heights) and expanding across a growing library of phobia environments. If you have a specific use case, tell us what you need - it helps prioritise the roadmap.

What hardware is required?

+

Rephobia is built for modern standalone VR headsets used in clinic. We can discuss headset options, setup, cleaning and redeployment workflow as part of a demo, based on your service constraints and budget.

How do you handle safety and suitability?

+

Rephobia is delivered with a therapist present and is intended to sit within appropriate clinical screening and risk management. We provide guidance on suitability considerations and session controls designed to support safe, graded exposure. Final clinical judgement remains with the treating professional.

Is Rephobia a medical device?

+

Rephobia is being developed with a medical device mindset, including structured documentation, safety-led design, and clinical evaluation planning. Regulatory classification and pathway depend on final intended use claims and deployment model, which we are approaching carefully.

What stage are you at, and what are you looking for from clinics?

+

We are onboarding a small number of pilot partner clinics to refine the therapist workflow ahead of wider rollout. Pilot partners help validate what “good” looks like in practice - onboarding, session flow, controls, outcomes capture, and adoption requirements.

Can you share evidence or studies?

+

Yes. VR exposure therapy has a strong evidence base, and we can share a short evidence summary plus key references. Rephobia’s own evaluation will be shared transparently as it progresses, including what works, what doesn’t, and for whom.

How do I get involved?

+

Request a demo if you’re a clinician or clinic exploring fit. If you’re press, funding, or research, send a message and we’ll route you quickly - or scroll to Traction for awards and updates.
